    Default Andy from Adelaide

    Hi,

I'm Andy. I used to work as a carpenter when I was young and I did computer programming as a hobby. Now it's the other way round...
I'm still establishing my men cave, so I hope to get some advice about tools and machines here. I just browsed the forum a little and I was surprised to see only sheds made from steel in the "THE SHED" forum. I think we should use a little more wood, here is the one I'm building at the moment:

    Cheers,
    Andy

Welcome Andy, steel sheds are quicker, simpler and less expensive to erect plus the termites get indigestion if they eat them

    Looks good Andy.

My original shed has wooden wall frames, but after setting fire to that shed several times while doing a bit of metal work I decided to make my new shed all steel - even the internal cladding.

Welcome Andy, great looking shed! I like the stone work too.
I’m over the hill down in Strathalbyn, if you find any downed trees give me a holler. I do a bit of milling. Cheers Cal

Thanks for the warm welcome! I'll post more pictures when I go on with the shed - but it takes time because I need to safe a few bucks first. Cheers, Andy

    Welcome Andy,

Looks great! Would love to see some photos showing some of the joinery details. Is that Aus Cypress or Macrocarpa?

    Cheers, Dom

I should really take more photos. Attached a few that I have. The timber is MGP 10 pine from Bunnings, 90x35 mm. Bunnings gets it obviously from Russia or the Baltik states, so it's good quality timber with small growth rings.Cheers,Andy

Wow, glad it was you paying for it! Another plus for steel framed sheds. How much glue did you go through laminating it all?
Awesome work though, love the joints. [emoji3]
