    Default G'day from cintamate

Hi to anyone out there. I am new to the forum and have been tinkering with wood for a little while. Attending a girls secondary college I didn't have classes in woodwork. I chose to learn a bit about it at a TAFE in Melbourne in hobby woodwork. Great course except I was disappointed because (and I appreciate the intent) when we would leave our projects until the next weeks class, a fairy carpenter would come in and fix the mistakes. My gues it was about students ending up with a finished project. Although I didn't get to learn from my mistakes. I then did a second course a bit further advanced to learn how to operate some power tools. several years later I became interested again and started with a Triton workbench. I have a few tools now and with the help of my brother and some of his larger tools we have built a coffee table and my most recent attempt was a bookcase with doors. Love the forum and will also connect with the women woodwhisperers. Have found it very helpful so far. Love your work

Remember, woodworking tools (all tools really) are like a strange dog - treat them with respect & don't show fear, then everything will be fine.

Most accidents/injuries are a result of not 'respecting' the tool for potential problems, and being afraid of a tool is an easy way of getting into the same place.

There is no such thing a stupid question, just stupid answers
