Default G'day from St. Augustine, Florida - USA

Hello everyone! I may be the least knowledgeable woodworker to ever join this site. I have nowhere to go but upward in my woodworking learning and hope to learn plenty from all the experienced people on the site.

I live in the north part of Florida, in the USA. I'm on the eastern coast about one mile from the ocean. I've one acre of earth that I can call my own and since I'm recently retired, I have plenty of time to start all those projects I've been putting off due to long hours at my old job.

It's good to meet all of you!

Hi NF, everyone is still asleep over here,
seeing as I'm up early, I'll be the first to say G'day and welcome

what if the hokey pokey is really what it's all about?

    Hi NF, welcome.
Yes bedtime for our aussie friends, but here it's early in the evening.
I'm retired since 2001, 24 hour a day is not enough for me.
Have a great time at this in my opinion the best existing forum.
    Cheers, Ad

Thank you for the welcomes! The idea of the time of day didn't even cross my mind! I'm outside most of the time messing around in the yard, so I usually only check the messages a few times a day anyway. Now I'll remember that there is a 12 to 15 hour difference between the two places! If I remember correctly, the seasons are reversed as well. We're just ending winter here in Florida. We're having 40s F at night and 60 or so in the daytime. I can't wait for the 80s to return.

Welcome aboard. Not only do the seasons reverse, but also daylight saving periods; hence 14 hours +/- 1 hour, depending on time of year. You're lucky you missed the metric religious war, unless it starts over again.

    Cheers,
    Joe

Hey! Thanks again to everyone for your kind welcome.

Yes, artme. I've got so many projects and so little experience with woodworking, this place will be a fountain of knowledge for me.

I've already started with my first project: https://www.woodworkforums.com/f187/f...r-roof-114888/
