    Default Hello from Adelaide.

Hi guys, I have been a member here for some years, but I haven't done much with woodwork for some years. Waaay back in the 80's I had a Durden Pacemaker UP12-600, and I kept the brochures etc from that machine. Today I bought the same model machine just minutes from me but it will need lots of work...but it works. I started stripping it to see all the faults etc. this is what I have.

Welcome back! They are good machine unfortunately any parts you need you will have to fabricate yourself there are no longer any spares available and Durden will not assist you
    I have one the same
I would love to have look at the rise and fall mechanism for the saw while you have it apart

Thanks for the info China, I thought that was how it would be with parts. I have a metal lathe welder, and milling machine, so I think I can do what I need to get it back to working correctly. With the table raise/lower, it has been messed with, so until I take more apart, I won't be much help probably. This it that area. One thing I did save from all those years ago was the original brochures and price sheet covering all attachments etc....and in perfect condition.

Thanks for the welcome guys, I appreciate it.
I have spent a number of hours on the new toy, and although I still have a bit to do, I now have this.

For the cast iron top, wd40 with a scourer and a lot of hand rubbing. The fence was disassembled and cleaned, black areas were repainted with rustolium flat black. All rusted parts that should be just clean steel were wire brushed, it was only surface rust, but plenty of it. I removed the old makeshift wheels and fitted an original looking wheel kit from Bunnings. The axle they have was too long so it had to be cut off about 150mm.
