Default Hi from the Macedon Ranges

Hi all. I'm just getting back into woodworking - after a 20 year break - and have really enjoyed reading a bunch of threads on here over the past couple of weeks, as I try and acquaint myself with the latest tools and equipment. I'm in the process of fitting out my shed, but I'm in no rush and am keen to do it right and make things safe, especially since I have two young boys who are ultra-inquisitive. I learned what I know about woodworking from hanging around my late grandpa's commercial joinery and home workshop in Ballarat. Judging by what I've read so far, I'm sure the forum will be a great resource to help me get back into the swing of things! I look forward to being a part of the community.

    Tilley,

Welcome aboard, its great when we've been able to learn from our parents or grandparents. Hope you still have some of your grandpa's tools, that would be real awesome.

If you want to meet a few from the forum and some from other places who share a passion for Wood Working you may like to check this out. Bring your two young boys too, we need to train the next generation of wood be would workers, or is that meant to be would be wood workers Just so you know, there is a mini rail right next to the proposed site that will be running Sat and SUn I think, your boys can get all day tickets for $15 each.

    https://www.woodworkforums.com/f25/ww...2014-a-170839/

At this time it looks like we will have a variety of competent woodworkers there with skills in flat work, wood turning, carving and perhaps milling.

It will kick-off about lunchtime Friday and run thru till Sunday (if some want to stay Sunday night that is fine too)

Opportunity to spend one on one with some of these and whoever else is there and willing to share there time and expertise.

The invitation for you and whoever comes - bring some tools, bring some wood (these are optional but desired if possible) you can sell, swap, work with it or just watch others.

Mandatory if you come - a smile, willing spirit, desire to have fun learn and enjoy yourself.

Hope to see you there, if cant make it we'll see you round the forum and who knows maybe at some other event

    Take Care
