Welcome and congrats on finishing Sturt. It must have been a great time although I imagine quite tough at times. I would love to do it one day. Can you share any of your experiences and pieces made?
    cheers

Brilliant experience. Great instructors and a really good group of students. From age 23 to 61, diverse, career changers and 4 retirees. Fast paced but fun. Not a cheap experience when fees, accommodation, lost income, tools, wood and other consumables are taken into account but I can’t think of a better way to spend a year and to really step up my fine furniture making and design skills. Still a lot to learn but now have a solid base and a pretty good network. Each term builds on the previous term including hand tools (using and making); machine tools; table design and making; curving, bending, lamination and construction; finishing etc; stools; drawers; cabinets and chairs. Instructors included Phoebe Everill, Roy Shack, Peter Young, David Upfill-Brown; Paul Nicholson, Colen Clenton & Terry Gordon. Design reviewers included Evan Dunstone & Leon Sadubin. Also had time for courses at Wood Dust and in Chisel/Japanese plane making with Koitoya and Japanese tools. Ran out of time to make a bench with Phoebe Everill but she still made it happen. So yes, it was full on. Started around 0715 each day, finished around 1815 and managed to avoid working on many weekends but did spend one week of vacation completing my drinks cabinet. PM me if you would like further detail.
