    Default Sydney checking in.

    Hey all,

I'm Eden, 21yrs old and am just starting to pick up woodworking as a hobby to give me a break from the non-creative, monotonous IT support workplace.

Currently live in Sydney (Five Dock area) in a sharehouse so not much room to do things (especially because my housemate's dog will just terrorize me out the back).

I've considered joining a mens shed, but don't know if a 21yr old would really be welcomed/fit in there.

First projects will include a workbench, desk, and a bed. Ambitious, I know.

Hopefully I don't suck too much and I stick around here for a while longer.

    Cheers.

    Default Welcome

    Hello Eden,
Welcome to the forum. I strongly recommend that you go along and visit Strathfield Men's Shed, I am a former member and I assure you, they are more friendly than your flatmate's dog. The shed is in Pommeroy st Strathfield and it is well equipped.

    Good luck and happy woodworking

G'Day & Welcome to a top forum "Eden".
There are a heap of members in Sydney and surrounding areas.....
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.
    Enjoy the forum.
    Enjoy your woodwork.
    Cheers crowie

PS - There's a Get to Gether at Katoomba of some of the Sydney basin forum members this coming Sunday, you'd be very welcome and good opportunity to met a few fellow woodworkersl...no dogs at Brett's either....

Welcome to the forum. I hope you feel at home here and I don't mean by the current state of your backyard with the vicious dog.
