    Default Sketch up

I'm planning on downloading Sketchup. But i noticed there's a couple to choose from. Can anyone help with which program is better suited for metric furniture design.

And once loaded, How do i get started with fresh clean page?

    THanks for any help.

Unless you want to pay for SketchUp Pro ($US695), you'll need to download the free version which is SketchUp Make.
Just executing the program will start you with a new page. The first time you run SkectchUp, you will be prompted for a template where you can enter the type of work you want to do (woodworking, architecture, urban planning etc) and the units to work in (inches,mm).

As per Geoff above, but my understanding is that you can download the Pro version and it will install as Pro, and give you 30 days trial at Pro level, then revert to Make level until you buy and register a license with the software, after which it again becomes Pro.
The major difference between Pro and Make is that Pro includes 2 additional programs, Layout and StyleBuilder. The Layout program facilitates making conventional drawings from Sketchup models, and StyleBuilder supports creating specialist custom styles for use in Sketchup. A couple of the tools/features in Sketchup are enhanced in the pro version. Whichever version you go for, there is a large collection of plugin tools available on line to enhance the program function and customise it for particular tasks. These can range from free to almost the cost of Sketchup Pro itself.
I used to be an engineer, I'm not an engineer any more, but on the really good days I can remember when I was.
