As for the design, there is plenty on the net, some free and some not free.
You could always go down the boat yards when they're closed, take a tape measure and digital camera and get some details

Remember that most commercial manufacturers build down to price, so my inclination would be to find a design that suits you, and then read the threads here for material sizes etc.

VSB1 is posted in this forum so you can make sure it's legal.

I wouldl like to know how you do this. I have a boat trailer to build for a small(14ft) fibreglass boat that i'm doing up.
