Finally shaped some legs
Then cut mortises for the stretchers between the end pairs of legs and then cut the taper on the inside of the legs
and glued the stretchers
Cut the rails and used the Domino to join it all together and then cut out the drawer front with my japanese saw
They are abolutely brilliant and leave a finish as smooth as a B'B
I was tossing up between using the domino to join the stretcher to the intermediate rails or being traditional with a dovetail join.In the end I used the domino but there is a very slight amount of sag with the drawer front cut out and I wonder whether this would have happened with a dovetail join. Guess I will have to make another one to find out
Next step is to make the drawer and I thought I would use the method described in FWW 219I've just become an optimist . Iv'e made a 25 year plan -oopps I've had a few birthdays - better make that a 20 year plan

That's a much more pleasing design.
.
I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.

Seeking Opinions
Well on the way to completion with drawer and the top finished .
I am trying to decide whether a slight curve on the ends would look better than the square ends . Something like the second picture .
I have the opinion of the LOML and a friend who was here today , but I would appreciate somke more opinions before cut the curve .

My wife says you should, as that will give it a 1950's Danish look. Not sure how much she knows about furniture styles, but my opinion is that the rounded ends sit better with the curves underneath than the square ends. And I usually agree with WW...

I'd vote for a slight curve probably about half what you have sketched in

Of those two choices I vote square as well. What about a very slight curve the other way? Just thinking outside the square
Those were the droids I was looking for.

Thanks for those opinions guys. NC Archer has stirred up my memory with his suggestion to put a slight curve on the front. I remembered that my DIL said she did not like a curved front which probably means she would not like the curve on the end either.
So the end will be square .I've just become an optimist . Iv'e made a 25 year plan -oopps I've had a few birthdays - better make that a 20 year plan

Personal opinion is square!
If the customer wants curved, then the smaller the curve the better.
