    Default New BBQ Area

    Hey guys,
The BBQ at my house isn't the greatest and since summer is coming up which means BBQ season approaches haha I thought I would build a whole new BBQ set up including getting a brand new BBQ. I am also doing this to say thanks for my parents and also because we are bringing down our old pergola soon and putting up a new one. (which I'll also put up a thread about that when it starts).

I am wondering what is the best way to re-design the area, I would still like to use the same amount of concrete space we have there. And also what materials will work well. I am hoping for a dark red timber for the cabinet type areas and am also not sure what would work well with any red timber, I mean tiles and such by the way. Hope you all enjoy viewing my progress over the next few weeks and I hope I can get some good advice from this as well
    Cheers

The BBQ area we have now.......shameful isn't it haha

Also the concrete block in which the bbq area is situated is 840mmX2400mm.
And some more happy snaps haha

Sorry for the quite big pictures guys, not sure how to make them smaller

I will also try to free some time up tomorrow to draw some sketches and post them up

I am thinking that you should keep the brick structure if this is sound and the right height. If you are going to replace the BBQ then you might consider to replace with something similar size to the one that you already have.

Sorry can not suggest the type of timber to use for the rebuilt.

You do make a good point there, since the brick structure is solid i will keep it, it will also save a bit of $$$ instead of wasting money on a whole new structure. I might just end up painting the bricks to give it a whole new look.

As for a new bbq, It's hard trying to find one that isn't too expensive, some can get quite heavy on pricing.

I was also thinking a some sort of timber that gives a red appearance since soon I am going to start work on a red gum bar and if would be good I think if they matched, but I dunno...

Having them matching would be interesting.
