Anyone built a 'Barristers Bookcase (globe wrenecker)
l have some Pacific Rosewood, which I had thought I sold, but the buyer pulled out at last moment.(I have just posted the bundle here(1.2 cube) to sell-see for timber sales),but times seem tuff and a sale unlikely.
So looking making a few 'Barristers Bookcases' they are also called globe wrenikers,(not sure if that's right spelling),and I think that was more the name of
company in N.Y that use to make them in the 20's.
Anyhow, they are a neat looking tall bookcase unit, but have folding doors on each shelf that fold up into into it horizontally.
Has anyone here ever made one,and could you post a few images-on different angles-it would help me make the plans up.
Thank you.

In 'Bookcases' by Niall Barrett there is a full plan and how to make them. Mainly ply carcase and hard wood face frame and doors. The units just stack on top of each other not one tall unit though.

Barrister's bookcase
I make a three-level barrister's bookcase a few years ago from a plan in Woodsmith magazine. This is the picture from Barrister's Bookcase Woodworking Plan which looks like what I built. The plans are available in downloadable PDF format for US$9.95.
They were quite easy to build and since they are modular, easy to move around.
