Hey big W, yes the turn screws/drivers are so much better for straight blade work I think. The new ones these days don't seem to fit the slot properly. The hinges are from Lee Valley (Hardware), the lock also. I did get some handles from them but I have ended up using some I got at Dukesmith hardware at the end of my street.
Hi JJ, most of my dovetails are based somewhat on the ones from my gt, gt, grandfathers tool chest (the realy big old sea chest type made in 1836 I think). The work quantity is controled by the amount of money my children need, although I have always been one to get a lot done in a short period of time. Must have made my past employers a fortune.

Depends which photo you're looking at, I generaly use only Robertson square drives (the only screw worth keeping on the shelf these days) but this lock is a US made one and came with good quality slotted screws so I thought I would use them.

You didn't have to wait long Nick, got the first coat on and drying today while I knocked up the lift out tray. I have done the inside with home brew Dainish and the outside with floor seal. One more coat tomorra and I'm done. Put on it's jewellery and collect my money.

Hi Wallnut, knock yourself out. Works a treat except the piece of timber I used on the outer jaw has a crack in it so I will have to
replace it when I get a chance. It was the only piece I had around that size when I trew it together.

Hi Pete, haven't forgotten, Mum and Dad have been away, basicly she said they were an accident. Just add a bit more liquid or maybe a bit more butter and I would sugest a bit more golden syrup/treakle and see how they turn out. They need to slump down when you spoon them onto the baking tray.

Nick that tray wouldn't be big enough for you lot, I'll just wheel the box trailer in

Done and dusted. Pretty happy with the outcome. Multi finishes, outside poly floor finish, inside is Danish and the tray is white polish and then a coat of Ubeaut Traditional Wax. I wanted something that would alow the natural timber aromas to come through. The Camphor, Mango and even the Kauri will drift through after a while.
Well now back to the Revolver, nothing like a change

    G'day Claw Hama,

The underside of the lid really makes that blanket box really do it for me, as well as the choice in hinges etc.
I make things, I just take a long time.
