Chicken Castle
This project is too nice to call a Chicken Coup. Made for my friends son, that lives in the Northeastern part of Thailand. People from all over the village came to look at this thing, they had never seen anything quite like it ha. Wondering what the crazy foreigner was doing. Made all by myself with mainly hand tools, used a drill to drive the screws for the screen, because I was not crazy enough to drive several hundred screws by hand. That cheap hand saw from the home center held up pretty well and went through a lot of board feet of lumber. Fun project and I am proud of it. The kid should have 20 or so chickens and maybe he can make 50 baht ($1.50) or so a day selling eggs. So he will be a happy 11 year old.

He'll be running child care facility a week after the snakes eat the chooks.
Can get 8 kids sleeping in the coop and they can't run away when they play in the outdoor playgound.
Make Roi Hah Sip baht a day.
Just joking,
Its very nice, do you have to stock it with chooks and feed as well for him?
My favorite Gai Met, yum

Well done. Have you been approached by the locals to make more?

Hi Neil,
20 chooks is going to take a bit of feed but I guess you've worked it all out.
more likely that they let them run around to find their own food.
Just need to remember to lock em up at night.
I got 8 chooks as a kid, maybe 11 as well.
A fox got 1.
then the fox got another one.
Then xmas dinner the family had chook and our dog (standard poodle) decided he wanted chook as well and killed the other 6 in 1 go.
That was the end of my chooks.
That was the end of my egg business as well.

To tell you the truth Peter I don't know anything about the chickens. I just built the castle. (I am sure I will also be contributing to the feed fund as well though) Funny thing the locals all looking at it kept saying it is big enough for 30 or more chickens! Cram them in there I guess? I told them no way, start with 10 or 15 and see how it goes.
