BIG STUFFThis is specifically for those who make the bigger things. Furniture in general, tables, wall units... You know BIG stuff.
No pens, no little boxes, no little clocks, no little toys, etc.
If its big and you've made it or are working on it or intend to make it then here's a place especially for you. Show us your stuff.
This is the third in this series of benches for the new coffee shop in Slurry Hills.
Similar but different to the other 2.
More Australian Cedar (had some scraps left over from other jobs) This one has a similar split but I have gone back to a timber repair this time rather than the steel wedgy. Nice bit of Cedar in this top, lots of feature and a nice colour. It will look better after a second coat. Oh the bow is made from Wenge and a shot of mixing filler colours to get something that will look half decent. I don't use very much filler its not my thing, mostley just leave any cracks as they are. Actualy if you look into those bottles that is all I have used and those bottles would be 5 years old.
WiP'd up in no time "The Sword in the table" nice touch CH

HI Guys, yes it does look like a sword Ray, hadn't seen that. It is only a light Cedar not the great red stuff. Mind you the fact that its light let the diversity of the grain come out in this piece I think. The fork "flame" on the right hand side is beautifull.
Waldo, turn your phone off, send everyone else away and get into the workshop!

Not realy Christmas Ray, by nature I just love my food and if I don't make an effort to do some exercise I just keep working and working just doesn't wear it off.
Thanks Alex, its all good fun.
Todays efforts, another coat on the benchtop, underside and topside. This one will have the dishwasher under it so I don't want it curling up with steam and water so I will give the underside an extra coat or two. The passover shelf is done and getting coats of finish and the frame is on the bench now and having joints cut. Again just lap joints, some glue and a screw.
I feel like I just take the same photos each time on the jobs, are there any shots of processes or tools etc that anyone would like to see. Post or PM me if you like.
Last photo on top the black cabinet is that a block of rock I see??
Tools ok how about a window rubber bead replacement tool

Eagle eyes is at it again. Yes nice little block of marble waiting for a project (on top of my fridge) I have a few other pieces waiting too.
Yes, window/screen rubber wheelie tool. In this shot hidding behind the builders square. I have moved things a bit since this shot was taken but I will confirm with another shot tomorrow (after scuba dive). It should still be in the same place I think even though some of the other things (boxes of incents etc) have been repositioned. In the red halo over my head
