New Coffee Table
Well after taking a break from doing any wood working for most of this year as I've just had too many other things on my plate I've decided to finally get back into making something. The minister for finance, war and social engagements has been after a coffee table for some time now so I thought I could not only make her happy by finally starting the coffee table I picked up some pallets ages ago so i'm going to use them.Because I'm a bit of noob when it comes to wood working I'm going to use a simple design I was going to go with a chevron design for the top but now I'm going to go for a more simple pattern. My only issue is going to be getting the wood nice and evenly finished I work friends hubby was going to run them through his planner thicknesser for me but because I've been busy and havent had the time to break them down I've missed that boat as they have gone to europe on holidays so i have to try and do it by hand so I'm using this as a learning process. Will post some pics as soon as I start it.

Ok so I've pulled the pallets apart my next problem is trying to plane the wood since my friend wont be back for a month I've decided to make jig to try and plane with my router I've also started a small router table so I can do the edging and other stuff which would make things easier since I'm not the worlds best free hand router user.
Would post some pics but it's just a pile of wood at the moment and everybody has seen a pile of wood.

I do hope the pallet wood is clean. I would note put it through my machines as this wood is notorious for having inbedded grit, which will dull edges quickly. Check the wood thoroughly.

yep checked it today its actually really clean wood.
On a side note ive made a small router table so will test it tomorrow, I made a planner jig for my router as well but when i was testing it today i realised the wood I used is too thin so it was bowing when I ran the router over it so tomorrow will to make another one.
