Hey guys, Nick I thought you had a bit too much of your medication but you're right. I went back and found two faces,, or have I had too much?
Making things quickly, well, I set myself unrealistic times and then try to meet them. My client will be having a family lunch on this one on Sunday.
.......back to work.

I wouldn't be too concerned about seeing faces. However, if their lips start audibly moving then a medication reduction is recommended.

Delivered to Sydney (near Five Dock) and home again. I remembered to get a couple of photos this time but then they are all, almost, blury. I had bumped the knob on the camera. Never mind, I'm sure the clients will send me some more through. So here are a few shots of it together in the lane before going onto the table transporter (box trailer). Yet another happy customer
The photos just have not done this one justice, or I haven't. It looks so much better in the flesh than the photos.
FF, I am a little worried they might start talking to me so I'm taking tomorrow and Monday off for a little R&R. Then its back into the two Cedar bookshelves to go with the Cedar bench I did a couple of weeks back. Waiting for my new rasps to arrive, starting to get a bit toey

Yep, its all about proportion really isn't it. If you can get them right then the rest is just doing neat work. How are things out Bathurst way? all quiet again after the big weekend? Any trips planned back Newcastle?
Hi Christos, how they hangin mate?

Hey Claw, really nice job there, and that table bears a remarkable similarity to my 2100mm Ironbark table - if you thought yours was heavy......two big boofy fellas can lift it, but they can't go anywhere with it.
Only problem with mine is that it needed your skills to build it properly. No M&T joints in mine, and it warps like crazy.
The rasps should be despatched this week, so I'm guessing 2-3 weeks delivery time. We've had a special request for order #3 - a member is looking for a curved Modeller's or Very Tapered rasp, but with the curve opposite to the normal Curved rasp (i.e. concave instead of convex). This is for shaping Tenon/Dovetail Saw handles. It made me think that a curved Queue de Rat (love that name) might just be a very useful little number. Any thoughts?
Cheers, FF

I am fine. I do not want to distract from this thread too much so I will just post a link.

If Noel has to make one he may as well make two I think. Put me down for one. Any news on the saw files?
I made an Ironbark table a while back and this was just as heavy if not worse. At 2,1 long and 1.1 wide it took three of us to carry the top in, really need four. I had one end on my own which was ok on the flat but when it when up on its side to go through the doors it was a bit much so have a few muscles today that are complaining a bit. The legs and rails were ok.

I take it you mean the curved Modeller's or Very Tapered? Yes, I'll be having one of those as well, and I think I'll definitely get a curved Ratty. The member in question is looking at three rasps, prolly 9-12-15g, and the decision on which type will be his of course. I suspect it will be Modeller's. Don't know if it will be stitched both sides, but Noel can do pretty much anything we want.
Saw Files: I received the pricelist on Friday, and am just massaging it now. The summary is that the prices look very good (to me anyway), 45 files in the range, with Flat (square or rounded edges), Cylindrical (no taper), Triangular (sharp edges or rounded edges for gullets). Price range is about $10-$33 including freight, but not postage. Just a few details to square up and I'll be sending it out.
I'm also investigating the viability of having the option of Titan coating for the larger files (rust, mainly). For the small files it would double the cost, but that may not be such a bad thing - we'll see. I want to find out if the third party who applies the coating can do a better price for bulk, or whether it's the kind of process that takes the same time/effort regardless of quantity. I must say, I like that idea of files that don't rust, particularly in Oz where 90% of the population lives within 50kms of the coast.
It's quite good fun encouraging manufacturers into unknown (or un-thought-of) territory. They get a buzz out of it too.
Cheers, FF

Curved modellers, 10", RH, 12g both sides would be good.
Yes, manufacturers are not usually the people using the tools they make, they need our input to refine old tools and design new ones. its great when you find manufacturers that are willing to play. Been after a drill bit that will drill around corners for ages
Ok, now stop playing around on here and get that saw file price list happening
