Sorry SW, I did miss that photo, I have pipe clamps but they were still a little short for the long side, I went out Sat morning to get some longer bits but the plumbing supplies was shut and Bumblings didn't have any pieces long enough, so I had one pipe clamp and a sash clamp down each side. Not ideal but I got there. I just have to remember to get the pipe before the next table. Although the next table (in the shape of a large leaf 2.4m long) won't need them but I should get them and then I'll be set for next time.

Sanding, and finishing, more sanding, more finish....... might sit the lid on it and see what it looks like in one piece tomorrow. One more coat after that and then the cut back with wet & dry and then steel wool. Delivery Tuesday

Looking sexy . So you've reached the point where you softly caress the timber again and again and again...

(or is it just me that does that? )

Not quite, I have reached the part where I rub and rub with wet & dry with a little light furniture oil and turps to cut any brush marks etc out then rub and rub with 0000 steel wool, oil and huge amounts of sweat untill my arms feel like they will fall off. Then I will be at the stage where anyone who walks within 10m of it will have to run a hand along it

Of course you are in the club artme, meet me at my workshop and you can lend me arms (or is that ears, country men?)

Another table done and dusted, delivered this afternoon, very happy clients. I give all my clients a bottle of O'Cedar polish and tell them how to look after there new heirloom, a few dollars for a bottle of polish and you'd swear you had given them a gold watch.

Photos are a bit dodgy, had some terrible glare that was playing havock and they had washing hung over every chair and hand rail. They are going to invest in some new chairs now I think

Wait till you see the next table. I will start a new thread on it tomorrow.

Thank you for the kind words guys.
Hi Kev, have you got your timber packed away yet? My dodgy pile is still in the box trailer, the good pile is temporarily packed in my workshop on top of all my other timber. Will have to find an hour or so to crop the good stuff out and pack it away properly. I have a use for some of it already. My daughter wanted a slatted bed head so that will take care of the slats, I already had 2 Blackbutt posts so just about got enough.
