I had thought of using ply with slots cut in it but the whole idea was to use only recycled timber
so the plywood idea was dismissed. I went Alternated shorter slats and this proved beneficial in a
couple of ways, one being the ability to use a couple of twisted pieces that were suitable once
shortened.
Result overal was a pair of very happy recipients and some feelings of satisfaction for myself.
Should have some pics. up later today.

Various views of the bed. Guess! where the Oregon is.
Third photo shows the arrangement for catering with the gap at the headboard. A similar setup is used at the footboard.
Fourth photo shows the top of the rght.hnd. foot post which is laminated from pallet pine. You can clearly see where a nail has been extracted.

Nice bed and nice use of pallet wood. Dont think I have ever done a project without at least one mistake somewhere. The art is in how that mistake is overcome.
Regards
John
