Default Furniture building at it simplest and most elegant

I recently came across this lady on Youtube, who has wonderful ideas and great hand skills. I think I am in love.

Set in China, here she is making benches and tables from bamboo. Some great ideas for garden furniture for those with access to the raw material. Otherwise great great viewing. Enjoy ...

And another building bathroom fixtures ...

    Regards from Perth

are you sure she is Chinese? ( careful they....nod nod wink wink) are listening) Its what ?...I dont know but suspect Japanese talent. There is also something about Japan & sunflowers. When she put the dowel pieces in...hmmm drilled the holes with what GMC 12v cordless drill? haha

I am not correcting you Derek but just something seems odd.

I was waiting for her mum/the old lady to come in and brush her teeth at the end of the second video.

Very cool Derek. The videos are pretty too - the way they are done I mean.

Love the matter of fact way she seems to do things too. Just drag home a bunch of bamboo three times my height, cut a hole here, hammer in a few nails and wala. Maybe simple in a way but that would take a lot of skill.

Loved the little slivers for dowels and the seat, did you notice the alignment of where the bamboo branches were cut off or it may have been the line between sections, not sure? They aren't just anywhere along the seat.

And she can draw, though the embroidery was remarkably quick

As luck would have it, we have a young Chinese lass staying with us at the moment, I showed this to her and she immediately recognised the woman in the clip and knew her name. She is reasonably well known in China; it would seem. The gist of what I was told was that in her early days she did everything (think photography, design of the build, gathering of raw materials and then the actual build) and she is the real deal, but these days she gets help with photography and possibly sponsors from somewhere.

She lives, or at least appears to live in real, middle of nowhere rural China. But, it would seem that there is an unanswered question that the young lass we have here as a house guest and her peers have, about whether or not the woman in the clips comes from the city or country. There is no doubt whatsoever about her real ability to do many things with her hands, according to our house guest.

    Great find there Derek.

The real deal... she sure is good looking for a rural peasant.

Sure this isn't some idyllic cultural propaganda produced by our all-loving overlords?

If this is an actual rural house, in an actual real area and the resources displayed are real, it sure is nice.
