Almost finished! I don’t know if it’s a sense of achievement or relief to be honest.
Just the buttons and a few bits and bobs to go. Some big learnings since last time posting for me. I filled the grain with a filler made of sanding dust and osmo per FWW article and it filled well but I had a hell of a time to sand the top smooth so I ended up sanding through the finish and had to sand it back entirely. Luckily the pores stayed filled, but there are a few small blemishes/discolourations which is disappointing.
Sorry about the the pic quality, I’ll get some better ones soon. I also don’t know how to change the orientation as I’m posting with my phone.

That was my concern as soon as I saw the design - timber movement. I presume the top is completely floating rather than attached to the side rails? If so, worst that can happen is one of your intentional gaps around the legs closing up (long grain edge), while the other (end grain edge) doesn't.
Very nice looking timber, and I like what you've done with it. Top is going to look spectacular with finish applied.

Thanks Mr Brush. Yep, top is fixed with buttons to allow for movement. The walnut is nice, though there were quite a few unused planks and plenty of excess timber as it was really hard for me to get decent grain that would look OK on the top. There was a bit of colour variation or wild grain in amongst the boards i got, so I'm thankful for heeding Troy's advice at Mathews to get extra.
I've only got one more coat to go on the top. I wanted to keep the whole thing a matte satin finish, though a fine sand with the last coat should bring out the grain nicely i hope.
