    Default Bookcase ... wip

    Just to prove that I do actually make stuff, or attempt to make stuff ...

    No 1 son needs a new bookcase for his room.

    With this in mind I actually stated this project some time ago and got the pips when the jig for the drill press moved and made the holes for the adjustable shelves at ever increasing distances from each other

    So a big dummy spit and I left it alone for a period of time

    With pressure from SWMBO and No 1, I got back into it and also drafted No 1 to assist (as it's his bookcase)

    As I like sanding soo much, I thought he might like it as well ... The second piccy is of the lining boards which are for the back.

    picked up a fancy jig from Rockler, shelf pin holes now betterer,

    Glue up of the basic carcass frame

    Sides were dadoed for the bottom and top shelves as were the shelves for the centre upright, simple use of circular saw to cut the dadoes and chisel and then shoulder plane to clean out

    hopefully this thunderstorm will clear and not dampen the project too much so we can progress it tomorrow

    Nick I recall the bookcase being mentioned it looks a bit narrow in depth??

    Its looking good nice to see No1 is learning off Skew as to safety boots when working with tools.

    I gather photos were all taken from hammock with glass in hand.

    Excellent work. I like the fancy jig. You can tell No.1 that I have a very similar pair of shed shoes. Mine are a bit worn and beat up though.
    Those were the droids I was looking for.

    Yep
    To give you an idea there is a block sitting on the edge of the bottom shelf - with 6 holes through it
    I made half a dozen of them from an idea in a book or magazine about 15 years ago. My longest was a bit short so I joined them together with the rod joiners
    I can take a better piccy of one if you like
    I had to bring them out as all other clamps were a fraction short except the pipe clamps in the piccy and I used them elsewhere in the glueup

    It's 1810 tall, 1100 wide and 220 deep
