Yeh of little faith, I never make anything I can't hang from or stand on so that gives it a safe limit of somewhere around 120kgs at least (way too many Anzacs) and I could have done a little jig, to be sure to be sure. I did put some blocks in to take out the little wobble it had so the side skirt is now functional and not just for show. First coat of oil on. One more tomorrow and delivery Saturday morning. Off to Randwick again.

That's come up a treat Claw Hama. Is that gnome on the top of the table included with it?

That top is stunning!
.
I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.

Hey WW, the Mohair is under the polo. artme, the top has come up very nice, when I first got the slabs off Mals truck I thought it was going to be a little plain but after I put it through the thicknesser I could see the potential. Last night when I put the oil on and it turned a dusky mauve it took on a whole new sex appeal

Claw, I was loving the table.............right up until the legs went on. Personally, I think a nice tapered leg would have done the table much more justice, but each to their own.
That aside, it is a well crafted table, and has given me some ideas for the one that I will finally get around to building this year.......or next year.....or the year after that.
Job well done.

Well done, CH
Can you please tell us what oil you used, and how did you apply it?
I can understand people not liking the design, it is of an era long ago, and people's taste changes.
But we all applaud the craftmanship and the quality of work done
Thanks for taking the trouble to post these photos, esp the one of the live dynamic load testing. Did you jump up and down on it to test it properly?regards,
Dengy

Turned out great.

"If a man is after money, he's money mad; if he keeps it, he's a capitalist; if he spends it, he's a playboy; if he doesn't get it, he's a never-do-well; if he doesn't try to get it, he lacks ambition. If he gets it without working for it; he's a parasite; and if he accumulates it after a life time of hard work, people call him a fool who never got anything out of life."
