Been a lot of judgment calls making something like this without a plan. The curve on the seat, the angles for the back legs and back rest, etc I have half a dozen photos of seats I got off the web and have scaled them off and picking the features that look the most original and suit the size bench I am making (the BIG size), around 2.8m long.
I am as Woodwould said, enjoying working on this one.

Thanks WW, so far so good.
Got the base under control and have glued and clamped. Joints have come up good so will put some locking dowels in later. I have used AV XL Plus glue, I have made sure I have spread glue over all surfaces of the joints inside and out to help keep moisture out of the joints. Bit like a painted on moisture barrier. All came up nice and square and didn't need much diagonal force to get it square. Tomorrow I will do the little centre back leg, and start on the ornate top rail.

Thanks Wheelin, yes feel free to come and relax while I make sawdust. I get board if I stop for too long so I don't sit down much. I have to make a point of stopping at lunch time and sitting down otherwise I get to knock off time and think gee my legs are tired, thats when I realise I haven't sat down for 9 or 10 hours.

Getting there Claw That base must be nearly poking out the door.
I'm thinking you are going to need a hand to move that around soon. Any idea of what the finished weight is going to be?

    Hey guys,
Tony, yes its going to be very heavy, havent worked it out but there will be a F king in front of it.
Have you checked your coping/fret saws yet?

Just when I thought I was struggling for time, energy, and getting the job done now I have to drive to Mexico for the weekend to see the outlaws. Will have to work twice as hard till then.

Yes, coping/fret saws are 5 inch.
Have a nice drive on the weekend. We did it in just on 12 hours to Singo a couple of weeks ago.
I think you should take the bench and a few hand tools incase you feel the urge to knock out a couple of mortices.

Todays efforts, started with the selection of a slab that I could cut the whole top scroll from. I didn't want to have a missmatch of timber here even though long term it will all go grey. I overlayed the pattern over the timber and got all three pieces from the one slab. traced out, rough cut then trimmed to shape on the band saw. I have also now thicknessed them from 50mm to 42 (which just looked like a nice thickness). This will have enough meat to round and smooth off the edges to give it a generous and sexy feel.
