Hi Tony, no its still on the bench. Just putting the last screws and dowels in now, some sanding and oil next. I will take some photos of it before adding the zinc trims.
How is MiniArcher, first time to see a two year old know what a long bed jointer is and a young lass at that. Very cute.
Ok I would need one eye out, but it just seemed a bit ordinary to score the fromt of a mag.

MiniArcher has been a right little %$&@ today but she is 2 so it's to be expected. She loves looking through the woodwork magazines with me and knows all the machines and tools.
Can't quite picture where the zinc will go. Do you have a pic of the table so we can see how they will go together?
Edit: Found itThose were the droids I was looking for.

You have done well, that was a year ago. There won't be a lot, prob just a 50mm round disk in the centre of the armrest/front leg and some lower down on the legs or cross rails. I'll have to test it in a few places to find somewhere that it doesn't look tacky or weird. Stay tuned

Sanding, scraping off pencil lines plugging a few small holes, more sanding and then the finish. I decided to go with my standard Danish mix even though it is to go outside. The (external) Estapol 30%, Tung oil 30% and Boiled Linseed 30%. This soaks well into the surface of the timber where it will seal very well. The client is very dilligent and will re-oil it on a regular basis. If it does get left it will only dry out but it will not flake. More oil, either Danish, deck or other can then be put on without a major sanding back and flake removal.

I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.

Bench
G'day from the UK
Have been following the construction of this bench avidly
A friend was showing me the photos of his daughter's wedding, and he was not impressed that my main interest was the bench in the grounds of the reception venue, an old priory in Bath. Looks great in it's setting.

Hi Guys, final zinc embelishments on, and delivered to Smogney this very morning.
Another happy customer, he had me measure up for next one which will not be untill next year but its always nice to know there is more work coming in.
Hi John, great wedding photo but I think they needed my stretched version to put all those bums on. From a distance it looks nice though.
Some will like the zinc and some will not. I really liked it without the zinc but then it does give it a bit of difference. I should have taken a shot of the table and the bench together, maybe next trip.
While I was busy playing with Mr Lutyens seat I picked up three more dining tables to make. I will have a bit of fun over the next few days doing some turning for the art exhibition before I go back to furniture. I still have a bench to finish on the Red Hog thingy too. Oh, feeling tired all of a sudden nahhh tooo mushhh fuuunnnn

Great work Mr Hama, a beautiful result which will no doubt bring joy to every bum that comes into contact with it. Oh, and I like the zinc bit.
The time we enjoy wasting is not wasted time.
