Sorry I wasn't here Thursday Al. You could have picked up the mirror and Gidgee. I'll try and get them to you next week.
I could use that nail polish. I just picked up a stunning green frock that it will go with beautifully. Those were the droids I was looking for.

Plan B for the tiles if you are so attached to them. Carefully take each one and hit it with a hammer and then reassemble in epoxy so it at least looks like a bit of constructed art or similar. It couldn't be any worse than what passes for some art they pay thousands for. It wasn't me that put the beer bottle in the wrong spot and it wasn't my beer either so my conscience is clear.

Hi Alan
was looking for something else and came across this digital version of an old work
http://www.survivorlibrary.com/libra...eries_1921.pdf
it might be useful, it may not.
In terms of Auntie Google, Mary May seems to be one of the best sources -- I have her book on Carving Acanthus leaves.regards from Alberta, Canada

I have a blue one, with puff sleeves and a lace collar. Accessorised with a single gold boxing glove.
Very fetching.

I managed to get a couple of hours in the shed this afternoon and finished the day with all of the carcass components up to either the first coat of WOP for the Australian red cedar or Osmo Polyx RAW for the plywood, and then assembled.

This time, it hopefully won’t need to be disassembled again?
The finishing so far, has been;
Australian red cedar
- sand to 240#
- 1 or 2 coats of Aqua Coat grain filler
- sand 240#, 400#, 600#, 800#
- vacuumed and/or cleaned with a Jost dust disc
- coats of MinWax WOP lightly sanded between coats
Plywood
- sand to 240#
- coat of Polyx RAW
- sand 240#, 400#, 600#
- vacuumed and/or cleaned with Jost dust disc
Even though the plywood is “only” Bunnings ‘marine grade’ the Polyx RAW finish sanded to 600# can best be described as silky smooth or luscious!
I will now start on the drawers and cabinet doors. The drawers will be blackbutt dovetailed trays with red cedar faces. The doors will be mitred frame and red cedar floating panels.
I have started work on the SECRET COMPARTMENTSand the mountings and mechanisms have already been snuck into the carcass ?a rock is an obsolete tool ......... until you don’t have a hammer!

Abslutely NO apology is required, this is why I post! I am reminded however that, in an earlier life, I was employed by a ‘utility’. Late one night after a severe storm, I arrived at a depot in the NSW Southern Highlands just in time to hear the Depot Manager on the radio ‘robustly explaining’ to one of his emergency teams that he needed the team to split to go to 2 different outage sites. The bit I walked in on was “I don’t f****** care, I want CHAINSAW and CROSS DRESSER at the other job like f****** now!”. He turned to me and said “I’m sorry you had to hear that Boss”. I never did find out who CHAINSAW and CROSS DRESSER were but I’m sure the people waiting for the recovery didn’t mind.
