I really like the treatment of the top corners. Lovely work.

BTW, Intell have checked your photos and suggested they be deleted immediately for security reasons. NCArcher already appears to have turned to the other team and FF seems to be a sympathiser.

..... alright, alright, all I did was prop my iPad up on the marble slab?

I think they will look better than the other ones. Less green so less distracting from the top and the reddy brown is a good match for the frame. Good choice Mr F

So Mr A can look forward to the leftovers of some burgundy nail polish from Mr F?

Oh gawd, a whole new wardrobe might be involved.

I certainly hope so. I wouldn't want to wear the same thing two Saturdays in a row

Until I get the tiles, I’ve only got to worry about virtual gravity?

Errr, yes, but don't get laze faire and confuse virtual with real once they are delivered.....I doubt we could all make it through another breakage. Not without the aid of an excellent Psychologist, anyway.

I don't understand? How are you going to power the 3 ipads? Although I guess you could have a slide show of different tiles...

This idea does warrant considerable consideration.

Firstly, second hand tablets (not necessarily iThings), can probably be had for less than the cost of the tiles, and for similar postage costs.
Secondly, given that you've shown your indecision between green tiles and burgundy tiles, you could change them at will.
Thirdly, and I think MOST IMPORTANTLY BY FAR, had we all thought ahead, you could have repaired the broken tiles in Photoshop in SECONDS, without nail polish, without NCA outing himself, without Aunty Jack, without thoughts of rustynail in a blue dress and gold boxing glove (which, as an extremely visual person, has thoroughly done my head in ), and without Psychology bills for an entire community.

    Best option by far, methinks.

Oh yeah, and saved about 50 posts worth of pixels around the country. Ok, ok, there would have been a loss of entertainment value, but I really do think an overall nett gain in mental health around the country.

Started work today on the drawers. I made a prototype a few days ago (thank heavens!) and discovered that KingSlide push-to-open, soft-close drawer slides are length critical. Unlike ‘normal drawer slides I have used before, these slides require a defined length of drawer !
The method of attaching the drawer to the slides also makes it ‘difficult’ for the drawer base to hang out the back of the drawer and so I’ve ended up making dovetailed boxes where the drawer base will slide in from the front and be held in place by the attached drawer face.
    I love my Gifkin jig...

It it has made a beautiful job of dovetailing some very brittle and splintery blackbutt!
The drawers will also be finished with PolyxRAW.

It's actually a quality router bit that's done a beautiful job of the dovetails. It doesn't matter how good the jig is if the router bit's c!@p.
