    Default Marri Headboard Breadboard?

    Hi Brains Trust,

    I'm in the process of making a queen size bed from Marri.

    The frame consists of 40mm solid panels for the head and foot boards. Head board below.

    I've noticed a gum vein that runs nearly the width of the head board, visible in the middle of the photo below.

    The panel isn't load bearing at the point in question. My question is, should I breadboard the ends for structural strength as below, or can I get away with leaving them as they are? Visually, I prefer not to breadboard the ends, but will if needed. What do you think?

    I'm a fan of breadboards myself, tidies up endgrain nicely.
