Thread: Screw - Screwit or Scrooz?

I have a fair range of the sachys robertson screws but now I just tend to go for the bulk buy section at the local hardware & use mostly tufcote, gal or SS & sometimes brass, depending on the job.

I live in a high humidity area & anything else just goes rusty in no time.

I have bought from ScrewIt. I don't think I was really aware of Scrooz. I watched a YouTube video from ScrewIt.
One order from ScrewIt was missing something. I emailed them. They apologised and sent the missing part. I haven't had any other issues with them. Good source of pocket hole screws. ScrewIt have a table in metric to tell you which pocket hole screw to use which is invaluable.
Total tools also have some Kreg screws and they are handy to me but I'd prefer to order from a small business and forum sponsor if all else is equal.

I'm about to order a range of Robertson screws if I can find counter sunk ones. I'm a bit tired of the draw backs of Phillips screws. Bunnings now have one or two sizes of those but not much.

I've used Scrooz for stainless steel screws only. Good stuff, and they give you the necessary drill bit for square holes.

I've ordered from both. Good quality screws, shipped quickly in my experience from either supplier. Prices are on par or less than Bunnings with better quality. The square drive Robertson screws are much easier to use with a power driver, for me anyway.

I have also used Scrooz for stainless decking screws, the driver and countersink that was included with the packs were amazing! I have a couple of different all in one drill/counter sinks and the scrooz one performed very well.

The included driver bits also were great and drove all 2000 screws into hardwood no problems.

The pricing also worked out much better than bunnings. Highly reccomended

I have not used scrooze, but have used Screwit many times with good results. The quality is noticeably superior to the screws available at the local hardware stores. The final straw for me was buying 100 8g screws from my local hardware and finding 15 with deformed drive slots - unusable.

Have been using Screwit for about 3 years now and the dud counter is still on zero.

Noticed Scrooz are in Brendale so close for those of us on Northside of Brisbane. Will have to check them out.

I've used them a few times, both online and in-store (now that they're in Brendale), and they have been great. Great staff, great product and as mentioned previously, each pack/box comes with a free driver bit.

I have used Screw It many times and have quite a collection of their screws. The quality of their screws is excellent with very sharp thread points and small root diameter, also self drilling. The metal is hard compared to the usual offering from hardware store and I have never found a faulty one in the hundreds I have brought. I mainly use mine in softer woods so can't vouch for their ability in hardwoods. You do have to purchase the driver bits as a separate item unless you buy the "Introductory Pack" or their other boxed packs.
I have never used Scrooz but from their website they have quite a range of fasteners that also covers industrial usage so you would expect that their offering would be up there too and others seem to indicate that.

I have been a user of the Robertson Screwit screws since a Canadian relative of mine gave me some over 20 years ago. I also quite often use the Kreg joining system in furniture pieces and again the quality of the Robertson is excellent and very different compared to cheaper products sold in hardware chains. I also use their metal thread screws for attaching metal fittings in my workshop. Whilst I carry a large range of these screws including the special thread for use in MDF I often find it is possible to reuse them due to the square drive system.
