Thread: Single Bed for the Second Son

Our second boy is due to turn 3 soon and is out of the cot but not yet in his own bed. He has spent the last couple of months sleeping on a mattress on the floor in his brother's room.

The wood is a mix of reclaimed ex construction Jarrah (mine) and new Jarrah boards that were kindly donated by an interested Grandfather. The long boards pictured below were over 3m.

The longest parts were the sides, which come in at 2.2m. Processing these is slightly tricky but can be put over my smaller machines with some planning.

Test fit. These will be pegged to hold it all together.

In position in the boy's room. Note is not quite finished as I still need to turn and fit the pegs, but he's happy to have somewhere to sleep now.
