Default Table Saw for Furniture Making ... Bosche GTS J 10?

    Hello all,
I am nearing that stage where I stop going to the office each day and start heading down to the shed ... not a large shed though

I have some basic tools but no decent table saw (old cheap GMC 254mm at present).

I have beginner skills but want to lean the skills of woodworking and have a table saw that I can learn with .... and master.

Would the Bosch GTS 10 J be suitable for use in making furniture ... chairs, table, cabilets etc?

    You advice would be helpful

    Thanks

    Rob

Bosch GTS10XC Table Saw Reviews Australia www.bosch.com.au

I personally haven't used one but I found this not very flattering review on line. If you are planning on getting into woodworking, do yourself a favour and buy something decent the first time otherwise you will just want to upgrade in six months after the frustration of using something that is never square and always needs adjusting. Keep an eye out in the secondhand machinery market on here and in the papers and you might pick up a decent second hand saw for not too much more than the Bosch you were looking at. Otherwise have a look through the carbatec catalogue and pick something from there.
The world is a comedy to those that think, a tragedy to those that feel.

    Default Yes

Yes good advice - keep an eye on the evil bay and gumtree listings as well as machinery4you, but also attend machinery auctions if you have the time.

I'm not familiar with the saw you mention so make no comment on it.
