TV Cabinet
Hi All,
Went looking for a corner TV cabinet to buy, but all I could find were stained pine cabinets that didn't quite suit, so I thought bugger it , I'll make one instead, so here it is. I made it from rough sawn Red Cedar planks mostly around 250mm wide x 30mm thick. I would have done a WIP, but it took me almost 12 months to complete being a working man and only getting to it on week-ends in between fishishing trips etc and it would have been a drawn out affair . I played around with different finishes namely lacquer, wipe on poly etc. and finially decided on Rustins Danish Oil and wax.
Being a novice at cabinetry I had a fair challenge ahead of me but I was determined to take it slow and do the best job I could. I even went the whole hog and put bevelled edge glass in the doors and a glass shelf in each end cupboard to compliment the timber. It's not perfect but I learnt a hell of a lot and I can only get better. I only used biscuits and glue for all the joins but intend to progress to more traditional joinery in the future which I'm looking forward to.
Thanks for looking.
Cheers,
Nev
