Wip
Sorry the top is 2200 x 1250
The rails are 90x 35 and the legs are 3 x 90 x 35 laminated.
Attachment 151439
Attachment 151440
The base is doweled and has corner blocks and centre rub blocks fitted.
The tops is on the trailer as it was far to big for my drum sander and I was able to take it to Kangan.

Looking good Pappy. That is going to be one solid table. Picked a finish yet?

Nicely done they pappy, looking great
I will be interested to how this turns out because I am thinking about making a dining table after my current project and vic ash is an option for it
Also, where did you get clamps at those lengths, I can't seem to find any around town where I am

A good solid, durable looking table.

I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.

Thanks boys,
"Bob" I would have preferred to finish it in a clear but the "princess" wants it dark
She first picked out Black Japan from the book but on advice from the forum I bought Prooftint black. I did some samples and guess what she thinks its to black.
I then got walnut and mixed some of the black tint in to get a darker brown.
I stained the base today. Princess is happy.

I was thinking of using Cabots CFP as a clear, I am still undecided
"Matt" I have a number of 1800 mm and 1200 mm record sash clamps which can be joined to get the reach I needed.
I think I bought them frm bent tools, but I know Carbatec have them.

The stain looks good Pappy, sure brings out the grain. And, of course, it meets the most important of all criteria.

Pappy,
think carefully before using CFP as a finish, as I and many others here have found, it is a real mongrel to get a good finish with, check out TPI's thread on his Jarra table.
Personally I use FW Floor seal WOP with excellent results.
Get your self a piece of ply and do a test run with CFP first, especially over a tint.

Hi Pappy,
Just wondering how you are attaching the top to the table. From what I can see on my pc (screen isn't the best) it looks like you have blocks attached to the rails with holes to insert screws into the top or are you using buttons?
Cheers

Bryan.
I have fitted 13 blocks to the base. They have 2 elomgated holes in each to allow the top to move and not split. I hope it will hold alright.
