    Default a walnut slab bed

a few weeks ago we shipped out a king size bed with a walnut slab headboard ... it was an interesting project that involved design/engineering and construction skills ... there are five of us working here so everyone contributed their bit and we wrestled it through to completion. it arrived at it's destination 1500 miles away and the moving company assembled and hung it on the cleats i had sent the homeowner ahead of time ... everyone's happy and we're now on to other projects ... check out this post on my dorset (vermont) custom furniture blog for more pictures and process descriptions ...

i'm not trying to sell anything, (no advertising on my blog), no shipping to australia, i have just been fortunate over the last 35 years to work with other furniture makers and builders who have shared their techniques and methods with me and i intend to do the same ... enjoy ... and best of luck to you ... dan mosheim, dorset custom furniture, usa

Put a DC under the bed and it becomes a sanding table.

Fantastic job Dan, I did one a few months back very similar, I put slats in place of the ply and it only had shelves on each side. Timber was Mango. I could have put a photo on but my last laptop died and took the photos with it. You can see it on my web site if you want to have a look at it. They look to be similar size King size bed, head was 2.9m wide by 1.2m high. I even had a butterfly in the same spot.
Would love to get a slab of that Walnut looks sweet.

    Nice blog too Dan

Dan, how thick is that headboard, it must have weighed a ton...lovely piece of work, and thanks for sharing your blog.
