    Hi Pipeclay,

Assuming length is parallel to the spindle, I took the cover off and measured my 1973 model AR with the gear in place and found the teeth to be a little under 16.5mm long (16.4mm to my best eyeball using a pair of dividers just slipped over the ends of the teeth and then transferring the measurement to a vernier calliper)

This is a V belt cone pulley. 37 teeth, tooth height 3.45-3.5mm

    Hope that helps.
    cheers
    David

Thanks David, the reason why Im asking is that I have a couple of Cone Pulleys with Broken Teeth that I am replacing and I have noticed that they are 5/8" and 1/2" in length.

The overall length of the Cone Pulley also differs by this amount, just not sure what the Shorter of the Two fits.

If its not to much trouble could you Double check the Tooth count as I thought they were 38 Teeth, also if you dont mind could you count the teeth on the Large Back Gear.

The reason being is that I know the BackGear tooth count does vary, and if your Cone Gear pullet is 37 Teeth then I might of found out the reason why the Back Gear Tooth count varies on the Large Gear.

overall length of cone pulley and small gear is ~102.9mm
    cheers

Just to add to the info, the Sheraton clone has 38 teeth, 5/8" long gear teeth, is 16DP at 20 deg, overall length is 4-1/8".
As I thought they were inter changeable, can someone confirm the length with a Hercus?

Apart from the PA the other sizes are the same for one type that I have repaired, although I think Sheraton are all B section Pulleys.

Yes, thats right. They have a wider section pulley.
The downside from this arrangement, is the section left is very thin, and the lip is liable to crack.

    Hi Pipeclay,

The cone pulley gear on my Model C, serial number 7852, has a tooth width of 15.95 mm, ie 5/8 inch. Teeth count is 37 and approximate diameter of the gear is 63.45 mm. ie 2 1/2 inch.

Thankyou Rebo,I hope someone who reads this thread might be able to shine some light on why there are different tooth counts on the Cone Pulley and Back Gears,
All the Diameters that I have come across are all the same, just the tooth counts vary.
