Default Maximum workpiece weight for a 260 lathe

G'day all, I've got a bit of 45/90 4140 hollow bar about 400 long to turn into a machine spindle, but i'm a bit worried i may be over taxing my poor old 260. Does anyone know the weight limit for the Hercus 260 work piece? Thanks in advance.
    Cheers

No idea as to the weight the spindle can handle.

I have machined solid at 75mm OD 400 long without a problem on an 9" so what your doing shouldn't be a concern for an 260.

Thanks Pipeclay, I was hoping it would be ok, i guess i'll just take it nice and slow with lite cuts and hope for the best.

Depends on what you intend turning on the bar. You may be able to use a steady to share some of the load.
