5 1/8" scroll saw or fret saw blades in Australia, or anywhere?
G'day,
I'm thinking of getting the Ultimate Fret Saw from Blue Spruce Toolworks Ultimate Fret Saw - Blue Spruce Toolworks
They mention it takes a standard 5 1/8" blade. I've looked around all over the place, locally in Australia and o/seas, I can find 5" and 6", but I can't find a 5 1/8" blade, anyone able to shed light on availability and a source for me?

I would contact them an ask if a 5 inch blade would fit.
1/8 is only 3 an bit mm.
It may well take a five inch blade!.
Cheers Matt.

I think this is a pretty cool tool.
Shame that USAnians invent problems that don't exist to oversell things. I also enjoy the "TV host" so desperately struggling with various aspects of using a normal tool.... BUT Now Weve Fixed It!
Any thoughts from regular users on the usefulness of this?
They are USD$300....

Blue Spruce Toolworks replied to me, only 5 1/8" blades fit. The gave me a link for blades, but it's not a local supplier, but in the US. So while it might be good scroll saw, just the seemingly availability of 5 1/8" blades, means a 'no more interest' from me.
I was initially thinking of a variable speed scroll saw at 3 times the price Carbatec 16" Variable Speed Scroll Saw | Carbatec for some detail work that I need to do for the grill panels for the side doors in my g/father clock. This seemed like a cheaper way out, but I'll think I'll go back now to the C/tec idea and think of it more as it providing a means to do other stuff in the shed I haven't envisaged yet (maybe also helping to give my little bloke something he might enjoy to use).

This bothered me, so I went and checked.
All my Pegas, Flying Dutchman and Olsen blades are 5 1/8" long.
Blue spruce is being overly exact. The blades here will fit.

My measurements were for unpinned, regular, blades.
All were bought from H Harris

I wonder if he is talking about the overall blade length or the distance between the pins.
This style relies on the pinned blades which are a nominal 5" between pins and 5-1/8 overall.
