    Default Blade confusion

I’ve had a Jet 16 inch variable speed scroll saw for awhile now.
But I would like to use it a bit more, I really haven’t used it that much.
It uses pined blades but I see a lot of pin less blades out there?
Is there advantages of one over the other?
Also, are twist blades better than straight blades?
Finally is it to much to ask of a scroll saw to cut 18/19 mm pine extra?
    I know a few questions [emoji849]

    Cheers Matt.

no your scroll saw will cut 20mm pine with ease the reason pineless blades are superior to pinned blades is if you have lots of insert holes in a project you want to drill the smallest hole possible and if you use pinned blades you have to have large holes to do the cuts. The spiral blades have a place but are tricky to use for most applications I find straight blades 3 and #4 from Helen Harris are the best for cutting most timber

I use mine to cut Palo Santo and Jatoba saw handles, I use a spiral blade to allow for sharp direction changes.
Innovations are those useful things that, by dint of chance, manage to survive the stupidity and destructive tendencies inherent in human nature.
