Here are some pictures of a collapsible Dodecohedron that has been made with a Christmas theme. The item consists of twelve pentagons that are fitted with magnets to allow it to be assembled (and disassembled).
I used the scroll saw to cut out the various silhouette patterns and when assembled there is a multi coloured LED unit inside that can be turned off and on by a small remote. The coloured lights can be set to fade from one colour to the next.
I have made a number of these as decorations. I did post one earlier under boxmaking but it is probably more appropriate here under Scroll Saw.
The Pentagons are made from New Guinea Rosewood and finished with a satin Polyurethane. The young ones love to pull it apart and reassemble.
