Excalibur EX-21 maintenance / troubleshooting.
My Ex-21 has just developed what I can only describe as an internal vibration. It becomes more obvious when cutting 19 mm stock. Blade continues to cut, but slows when the vibration is occurring, with a "rattling" sound. Vibration is not felt on the table. Does anybody know of any maintenance procedures for the EX-21 or has anybody experienced this problem?

Try this web site it has an article on running rough www.scrollsaws.com/…awReviews/excalibar_tune_up.htm do not know if it relates to your problem, have you checked the blade for tension, alignment & correct blade for the job, etc. there is another U.S site titled seyco,I do not own a excalibur myself but i think it will be my next saw when i can afford it.Cheers peter

nifty52, have you noticed if the blade is moving directly up/down (perpendicular to the table) or has a slightly forward/backward movement with each stroke. This forward/backward movement can create vibration.
I did a service and tweaking when I first got mine....by loosening the bolts that secures the motor to the body and rotate the motor, you can adjust the position of the top & bottom blade clamps so that the blade moves perpendicular and reduces vibration. The bolts are in curved slots. It is engineered so that if you turn the motor by the full length of the slots, you can re-position the screws into the slots next to it and continue the process.
Hope this makes sense

Hi, I have an EX-21 and have completed a major tune-up after the top drive shaft broke. My machine is around 4 years old and has logged around 3500 hours of cutting. I found Excalibur (General International) in Canada very helpful.
