Foot switch
Can anyone point me in the right direction in relation to purchasing a foot switch suitable for operating a scrollsaw. My wife has just got the saw and said she would like a foot pedal to turn it on & off so she can continue to hold the wood with both hands.
Thanks,
Dallas

G'Day Dallas, I have one from RS Components on my home made table saw for cutting firewood running an old 10" TOWA circular saw...
Buy Foot Switches & other Foot Switches & Accessories parts | RS Components
Another came with the secondhand Hegner scrollsaw which looks very similar to this Jaycar unit...

I hope that's some help...cheers, Peter

I bought one from Aldi a couple of years ago. About $10 and probably not as good as some of these more expensive models. Only problem is that they tend to put them out for about a week a year so need to keep an eye out for them.

Thanks for the leads guys. The Proxxon unit that Lappa put up sounds like the ideal unit with plugs on both ends. I will have to visit Jaycar and see if they have them with plugs as the link Crowie put up only shows the switch and not the ends of the cable.
Bauldy, did the Aldi one have plugs or just the switch and cable?
At least I have some starting points now.Dallas

Jaycar have a 240V 10Amp job for $24.95
I can't see a plug or socket in the pic, you may be expected to wire it up yourself.

I looked at the Jaycar foot switch a few weeks ago. My concern is it seems to be metal but no earth wire. Switch may be rated for 240 v but not sure how safe or legal it would be to use on Mains power. I am not an electrician so happy to be corrected.

See attached. You just plug into power point and piggy back the saw into it. Biggest problem is finding the one week per year that they are in stock.

Hi, Thanks Dallas. Did you get one? I just looked at the Masters ad in the link. Not sure I understand where the foot is applied to shut of and turn on the device. Does it do both or just turn the m/c of? The info below the eBay listing was just a blur of HTML. Thanks, Jen

Still looking thanks Jen. Been a bit busy recently so hopefully I can start now in earnest.
Looks like the Jackson unit is an ON/OFF foot operated switchDallas
