fretwork basket
Hi all
Among David's Christmas presents was a lovely book of designs for fretwork boxes, and other things, featuring fretwork. It is made from Tassie Oak.
I have put in my orders for a couple of Victorian style fretwork boxes, but they will have to wait. At the moment he's working on a box that has a fretwork brass inset. Pictures will follow, of course, once it's completed.
He immediately took a shine to this little fretwork basket. I think it's lovely, though an enormous amount of work. You certainly could never charge anyone the price it is worth, given the time it took to make. I'm not a great one for highly decorated items, so many pieces he makes will be sold eventually.
Cheers
Lili
