    Default GMC scroll saw

    Hi everyone

I bought very cheaply a 405mm GMC Scrollsaw. The kids keep telling me about their scroll saw projects at school so I thought I should get one for them to play with at home.

Anyway my question relates to replacement blades. I bought the unit on clearance from my local Mitre 10 but have no idea where to get replacement blades.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Danny

    Danny,

Try Jim at Carrolls Woodcraft Supplies. Details can be found on the forum front page as a sponsor. You will just need to know if they are pinned blades or not (are the held in by a clamp or a pin on the blade), give Jim a call and tell him what work you intend to do and I am sure that he can sort you out.

    Cheers

I wish we had scroll saws in the woodwork rooms when I was in school

Anyway, Harris Traders are another good place to try for blades

Thanks for your help everyone. Yes, oges, I also wish I had these in woodwork at school. The boys school is very well equipped and they were first introduced to scrollsawing in grade 5! I really do hope they develop a passion for wood!
