Help with picture jigsaw puzzles
G'day everyone!
I am seeking help with picture jigsaw puzzles. I have 2 main questions but more may arise.
1. What type of adhesive do you use to adhere the picture to say MDF?
2. What type of paper stock would you recommend. Photo paper or ordinary copy paper which will need sealing?
Basically any help would be great, I have seen many You Tube videos and they talk about products which we cannot readily access in oz.Russell (aka Mulgabill)

Hi Mulgabill,
I use a spray on adhesive, brand name is Mikador, 500g tin, I get it from Eckersley Art Supplies, it's not exactly cheap at around $16 a can. I apply a coat onto the MDF, let it dry off for a few seconds then apply another coat, then lay the picture over the top, a few small dowels laid on top of the MDF will help keep the paper off the adhesive. Line up an edge and then push down for the print to stick, remove a dowel and use a brayer (Rubber Roller) to roll out the air bubbles, removing the dowels as you go.
I get mine printed at the local printers and from memory they used 125 GSM, normal print paper is 80 GSM.

For those interested, I found that GIMP has included as standard, a Jigsaw render pattern which is pretty cool. You can select size, number of tiles (pieces), style etc. I then exported it as .jpg and I can now print off a template when required.
