Huh!
Looks to me like scrollers don't get much respect on this forum!! Very little activity and very little response. Oh well I love scrolling and I'm an x-turner,,,,

I'm sorry Paul & Bob, while I do have a scrollsaw I really don't use it to its potential.
I struggle with patience and concentration to tackle to fine and beautiful works of art the scrollsaw can produce in skilled hands.
That being said, I certainly do admire that skill and craftsmanship which goes into the production of a beautiful piece of woodwork off a scrollsaw.
PLEASE, keep doing what you do and sharing it as it's inspiration and encouragement for many others and me too.
Cheers crowie

Yes Guys! I am a absolute novice and I'm looking for inspiration (and time) to do more SS work. I enjoy seeing the masterpeices of all types when they come up here so I hope everyone continues to contribute.

I use the scrollsaw a lot for my toys, which I put into the toys section. I want to use it for fretwork too in the future, but untill then it's mainly toys/puzzles.

I think that other things on the internet (Facebook for instance) may take up too much of our time. Another thing is that some of the projects that some Forum members posted here, were just too good, and so some of us decided not to show what we have been doing of late. Well as Christmas approaches, I'm back in my SS saddle having a go at some Christmas presents. I managed to save some nice white pine slabs from a mates firewood shed this year, and have made a couple of items with that. Maybe I should do a post of my work to spur some interest. Keep on Scrolling Guys and Dolls.

Everybody is in a different situation....PLD, you mentioned in another thread that you had to be economic with size of jigs etc because of space ......so do you find that you specialise in scroll saw. I am fortunate that I have approx 51 sq metres of workshop (550 sq ft) so I have a scroll saw, lathe, thicknesser, drum sander, table saw to name a few, so I do a wide variety of woodwork projects. Some ppl concentrate on turning, some on scrolling, some on sculpture...and so on.
I don't think scroll saw work is disrespected...I think there is so much variety of woodworking out there. I had a chat with a woodworking machinery outlet owner last week and we were remembering when woodworking machinery was so expensive only professionals could afford it. Now hobbyists can buy good quality equipment and therefore spread their disciplines.

You have brought up an interesting discussion with this thread. I am not a scroll sawer and have not made anything using a scroll saw, but do enjoy seeing what people come up with. I hope that this will ignite more scrollers to post their work. And thus benefit more scrollers and post more work.

My little shop is around 3.1 square meters. I do have a lot of tools stuffed into it. Large tablesaw, planer, jointer, router cabinet, wood lathe, large drill press, bandsaw, dust collecter, several sanders, work table two scroll saws. Two scroll saws, but plan on selling one.
I do all sorts of hobby woodworking. Right now I am into the scroll saw, but I have made cabinets, furniture, had crank street organ, kayak, small sail boat, toys, pens, bowls, clocks, cigar box ukuleles, etc., etc. Like all kinds of wood working.
