    Made these from a Diana Thompson Pattern,only trouble is what do I do with them now .They are only 4" high and very delicate ,not something you could give to a child,they would not last 5 minutes.Oh well they look good sitting on my shelf

    I have my Grandad's old scroll saw but havent pulled it out yet... was this seriously made on a scroll saw?

    Yes honest it was. It is what they call compound cutting you cut it on two sides of the piece of timber & presto like magic the figure appears. You need to get the right pattern & glue it to the 2 sides of the timber. the wings & base were cut separately Cheers Peter.

    yep have done some compound cuts the end result is sometimes surprising .Have done chess pieces this way and they are good when then are done.
