Proxxon scroll saw pinless blade adapter
I have a very lightly used KB30 scroll saw. I have owned this since new.
I had cause to use it the other day but only had pinless blades. No problem I thought as I have adapters for it.
Unfortunately they don't fit! I have only ever used pinned blades.
I went to Mark at http://www.proxxonworld.com.au/ and he suggests to remove the existing blade holder and bolt on my adapters.
But doing that the adapter lays horizontal and the blade/adapter does not rock on anything. You can see the adapter has pins to rock on in the holder groove. But this adapter does not fit into the current holder.
I am thinking this will just break the blades due to flexing.
Any Proxxon KB30 users out there with a solution, or know where I can get the correct blade adapters.
Thanks
Lyle.

Hi,
There should be no flexing, the holders should be going up and down in line.

Thanks Hugh, I agree with you. Hence I am still looking for a set to fit.
Are there any scroll saw suppliers around, eg something like McJing.
I am waiting to hear back from manufacturer (Proxxon), but I suspect they will not be able to help.
So I am looking for aftermarket.
In the meantime I have ordered some new blades (pinned), that should do the job.

Without having seen the saw in life, you may find the adapter like clips in the holder depending on how much spring it has.
If the bottom holder is the same I can understand that you may have difficulties fitting the blade.

No the spring holders.will not fit for two reasons.
1, it will not open enough to clip in.
2, the adapter is not wide enough to fit in.
I have tried to fit them every which way I can. But no go.

Yes I can see the difference with my scroll saw. The bottom holder is a different shape.

Anyone made their own adapters. Or know of a shop/supplier that may have different types to lookat/select from?

G'Day Lyle,
I have adapted the bottom hegner clips to a sheppach and a ryobi amongst others for people at our club not sure if they will fit a proxxon. The top one doesn't fit but two of the bottom do. I think you will find Carroll's carry them, but I know Helen Harris in SA does. Hope this helps,
Cheers
Bernie

Thanks Bernie, I tried Helen but no luck. I must say though that she is a great supplier of scroll saw blades, excellent service.
I'll look at jims online shop and send him an email if I cannot see them.
Thanks.Last edited by Lyle; 4th June 2015 at 08:02 AM. Reason: spelling error
