When the tensioning is low the saw will turn on and start as normal and respond to the speed adjustment however as I increase the tensioning the saw gets faster and faster even with the speed setting on its lowest. When the tensioning is high enough to hold a blade the motor turns a quarter and then stops and makes a continuous vibration noise as if its stuck.
