Don't know that I'd bother doing finger joints, but that's up to you.

For dovetails, there are numerous tutorials on the net for cutting dovetails by hand, just adapt these to using your scrollsaw instead.

The tails are cut out with the table at the usual 90 degrees to the blade, the pins need to be cut at the predetermined dovetail angle.

Unless you have a saw that tilts both ways, you will need to figure out some way of angling the workpieces so as to cut both sides of the pins at the required angle.

A method to do this would be to make a false table to go on your saw that is inclined from one side to the other at the desired angle. You could make it so you can mount it sloping to one side to do all of the cuts on one side of the pins, then turn it around side to side so you can do the cuts on the other sides of the pins.

Best place to start would be to do an image search for dovetail joints, examine one closely then make an oversized one by hand so you can see how they fit together & how to tackle cutting it. Once you have the basics down, you could refine your technique, muck about with spacing & angles, etc.

Not tricky at all.... at least not fingerjoints..... really pretty easy.
I'm uploading a pattern you can size it to your needs , then just glue it to your box. I usually just use masking tape , then a glue stick.
The pattern has instructions on it. I've made a box for my Dad first year I used the saw and it came out really nice.

Now dovetail is another story. I have a pattern for that too, but it requires bending the sawblade so it will go sideways. I've never tried it because it just doesn't sound like it would be very accurate to me.
But then... a small box really doesn't need dovetails.

Problem might be defining "when done." The uploaded file should appear in a box below the "Browse" table. Don't close the window until you see that listed. Also, although it shouldn't make any difference (I think), use the Submit button below the Manage Attachments box, instead of the one below the text window.
