Spiral blades - Bit size ?!?!?!
OK ... just to make my life difficult .... I want to make something that requires thin ply (2mm) and a few tricky tight turns & cuts.
My El Cheapo beginers scroll saw will let me use pin or plane blades and I'm thinking of trying the Pegas Spiral blade as I think they will do everyting I want, to start with anyway
Anyone tried these? Thoughts please.
Thinking of ordering three different sizes on-line via Macwood and not quite sure what the "Bit size" refers too.

Bit size is the size of the drill bit needed to drill the hole for the blade to pass through the wood for internal cuts.

Ordered my spiral blades ... Macwood was great over the phone when I wanted to change the order ... but I simply couldn't wait to play with the saw ... so bravely decided to play with the thin blade that came with the machine ... these are my first two efforts .. just rough .. will be using a Dremel for more detail later.

what brand of saw did you buy, I use olson no3 blades for fine work and they can be turned at right angles i dont like the spiral ones i find they are hard to control ok if you want to use them as a rasp, Enjoy your new saw and have fun my son has just got one as well and practice practice thats how we all learn, and join a club they will be only too pleased to help.

It's a $80 Taurus from Aldi. Made by a mob called Einhell. They re-badge and sell it under a couple of different names. Pretty happy with it. Even cut some 20mm skirting board at 45' the other night. Handy little thing. Hubby's glad I talked him into buying it now
